Alumni visit to Westminster
Last Friday, we took 19 Regional Champions from 2016-17 to visit the Houses of Parliament for the afternoon. The Alumni were welcomed by Trudy Kilcullen, CEO, Jack Petchey Foundation and then we heard from Antonia Antrobus-Higgins, Grand Final Runner Up 2016-17 about her experience of the programme; Macsen Brown who thanked the Jack Petchey Foundation and Speakers Trust and finally, JPSOC Alumni Victoria Ayodeji who took part in the “Speak Out ” Challenge! back in 2013-14.
After the reception (where we also indulged in some really good cake!), we had a tour of the Houses of Parliament which was not only insightful but thoroughly interesting.
As well as the 19 Regional Champions, Trudy and Victoria, also present were Andrew Billington, Trustee, Speakers Trust (pictured above with Victoria); Russell Findlay, CEO, Speakers Trust; Frankie Rushton, Director of Programmes, Speakers Trust and Becky Griffiths, Programme Manager, Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge!
