Introducing… Judging Panelist Tyler West
On Monday 7th July, Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge Grand Finalists will take to the stage of the Cambridge Theatre. Every speech is unique and inspiring in its own way, making it an incredibly tough decision to determine who the next Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge Grand Champion will be, which is why we invited an esteemed panel of judges to take on that difficult task!
The panel consists of artists, presenters and campaigners all known for using their voice to create change. They will judge the competition based on the content, delivery, structure and positive impact of each speech and help us crown this years winner.
In no particular order, let’s meet the judges!
Tyler West is a DJ, TV & Radio Presenter, former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge Alumni. He hosts the ‘Home Straight’ drive time show 4-7pm on KISS Radio. Tyler is one of the regular showbiz correspondents for Lorraine Kelly’s daytime show on ITV as well as regularly interviewing Hollywood A-Listers including Dwayne Johnson and Jennifer Lopez.
Tyler grew up on a council estate in south London and describes himself back then as ‘one of the shyest people you’d ever meet’. One of the first times he ever spoke in front of an audience was at the Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge Regional Final when he was 15. He now uses his voice in every aspect of what he does today. He has a passion for helping young people and is a big believer that where you start doesn’t determine where you end up, the journey is what is important.
